Dalkeith & Monktonhall Band Chairperson Jim Henderson enjoyed an early Christmas present as he was recently presented with his Life Membership of the Scottish Brass Band Association.

It recognised 50 years of dedicated service the trombonist has given to the movement.

Lost for words

Jim was "lost for words"according to his wife Heather as he was presented with his accolade by Band Manager Karen Chamberlain at the band's recent annual Christmas Concert.

Jim started playing at the age of 12 with Monktonhall Band in 1970 and since the amalgamation with Dalkeith in 1989, he has combined being both Chairperson and second trombone.
