Three members of Selkirk Silver Band have been presented with Life Membership awards from the Scottish Brass Band Association.
The presentations to Ian Bradshaw, Emma Scott and Adrianne Robb were made at a recent local concert in recognition of their long service to the Scottish banding movement.
Trio
Trombone player Ian started playing with Galashiels Town Band in 1957. After a break in playing he returned in 1975 with Selkirk with his son, and has been a constant presence ever since as a player and administrator.
Horn player Emma joined Hawick Saxhorn Band as a youngster in 1983. When she moved to go to university in 1991 she joined the ranks of MacTaggart Scott Loanhead Band and on returning to the Borders joined Selkirk Silver in 1998.
Adrianne started her banding career in 1979 with St Ronan's Silver Band and stayed until 2002. After a short spell with Dalkeith & Monktonhall she moved to MacTaggart Scott Loanhead in 2003.
Between 2006 and 2019 Adrianne returned to St Ronan's and, for the past four years, she has been playing cornet with Selkirk.
