Whitfield takes on adjudication role

Matthew Whitfield has become the latest full time member of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators.

Matthew Whitfield, Musical Director of Rivington & Adlington has completed his trainee programme and become a full member of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA).

The former percussionist with Wingates and Black Dyke, he gained extensive performance experience before also moving into conducting. He is Head of Music at Lowton CofE High School.

Delighted

Having completed the three-year trainee programme, Matthew commented: "I'm delighted to be accepted as a full member of the association. I must thank my mentor, Martin Heartfield who has been a great support throughout the process, along with every AoBBA member I worked alongside.

Their professionalism and expert knowledge has been first class, and I highly recommend the trainee scheme to anybody considering making the move into adjudicating."
