Over par target for Irvine & Dreghorn fund raisers

A quartet of indefatigable golfers are helping to raise funds for Irvine & Dreghorn's National Final trip to Cheltenham.

Nationals
The four players are currently heading out onto some of Scotland's best courses

Four members of Irvine & Dreghorn Band have certainly thought of a great way to enjoy a fundraising project to help their band get to the Cheltenham National Finals later this year.

The foursome of Derek Leitch, Jordan Dickson, Steven Purss and Simon Berry have taken to the fairways to play 40 holes of golf over three days on 10 of some of Scotland's finest courses — including Turnberry, Old Prestwick and Royal Troon.

Hard yards

The first day saw them cover 17,800 yards over three courses (Par 209) followed by over 27,000 yards the following day (today) on four courses. The final day (Tuesday 20th June) will see them cover another 19,000 or so yards at three courses in Ayrshire.

We haven't asked how many balls they think they may lose in the rough though...
