The historic GUS Band name will appear at the Whit Friday March competitions next month as the Midlands Area Champion makes a long overdue reappearance at the event under the baton of Dr David Thornton.
The band did compete under the name of Rigid Containers in 1989, 1990 and 1992 but it is believed that this will be the first time the band will appear under the famous GUS identity.
Celebration
A spokesperson said "The celebration of our 90th year has created a renewed interest in exploring our rich history, and we were really keen for 2023 to be a year where we embarked upon new experiences as well as renew old links.
We have already undertaken a joint concerts with our neighbours at Corby Silver and Thrapston Town, as well as other exciting events for the rest of the year. Our return to Whit Friday will be a special part of that plan, and we are really looking forward to it!".
