The Ratby Co-operative Band organisation have announced a further addition to its conducting team with the appointment of Nicholas Garman as conductor of Ratby 'Mid' Band.

Experience

He will take over with the band that competes in the Midlands Area Third Section with immediate effect, and brings extensive experience as a player, conductor and adjudicator.

The secretary of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) is also an examiner for the London College of Music and said that he was "really looking forward" to his role having been "hugely impressed with the organisation and the atmosphere around the bandroom."

Delighted

In response, Ratby's overall Musical Director Chris Jeans added: 'I'm delighted that Nicholas has been appointed to be part of our wonderful organisation. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for many years and am sure he will continue the great strides the band has taken in recent times."

Nick joins a team that now includes Chris Jeans, Mareika Gray, Becky Cook, Sheila Allen and Ian Bartram, with Band Chairman John Hauton adding: " We are delighted to welcome Nicholas and look forward to an exciting new chapter for all the bands under the Ratby banner led by our talented new musical leadership team."
