Bands to come together to celebrate former player

The banding life of the late Colin Bourne will be celebrated in a special fund raising massed band concert in June.

LGB Brass
The memory of Colin Bourne will be celebrated

A number of bands from the south east of England will come together to help celebrate the life of Colin Bourne, a very popular and respected member of the brass band community, who sadly passed away in February after a short battle with cancer.

Over his playing career Colin was a member of many bands, including Handcross, Uckfield Concert Brass, Chichester City, Bournemouth Concert, Otterbourne, and Lewes, Glynde & Beddingham, all of whom will now come together to celebrate his life and love of brass banding. The BBb tuba player met his future wife Wendy at Chichester City Band.

Fitting

Concert organiser Jane Stewart told 4BR: "Colin will be sorely missed, and it is only fitting that we celebrate him in this way with so many musicians coming together."

The concert will raise funds for St. Wilfrid's Hospice, who provided excellent palliative care and support to Colin and his family

Concert details:

Saturday 10th June (4.00pm)
Location: St. Paul's, Churchside, Chichester (PO19 6FT)

Tickets: £6 per ticket, paid for on arrival.
