Scottish strength in depth in Perth

51 bands will compete at the Scottish Championships in Perth next month with a dozen taking to the stage in the Fourth Section.

  Perth Concert Hall will welcome 51 bands for the Scottish Championships

51 bands will compete at the Scottish Championships in Perth on the weekend of the 11th & 12th March.

It is a highly encouraging entry, with a dozen bands in the Fourth Section and with a trio of non-competitive bands also taking the opportunity to enjoy the event.

Qualifiers

Two bands will qualify for the Royal Albert Hall National Final, with the winning band also being invited to represent the nation at the 2024 European Championships on Palanga.

A brace of bands also invited to compete in each of the Cheltenham National Finals in September.

The action starts on the Saturday with the Third, Second and First Sections, followed by the non-competitive, Fourth and Championship Sections on the Sunday.

Chinnor Silver

November 25 • You need to be quick, we are almost full but just require Eb bass and percussion. We are a friendly, welcoming and ambitious band and start 2025 at the top of our second section ranking table. We rehearse on a Wed evening in our own bandroom in Chinnor.


Hathersage Band

November 25 • Hathersage Brass Band is a thriving community band. We enjoy making music and have a good gig schedule. An opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our Principal Cornet Ed as co-principal. Are you up for the challenge? This is our only vacancy.


Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band

November 23 • Bb Cornet, Euphonium, Eb Bass and Percussion required to complete the line-up.. Under the Direction of Duncan Beckley, the band is keen to fill these few remaining seats.
