Market Rasen Band continues to work hard to ensure that they will be able to attend the Midlands Regional Championships in Corby in February.

The band has welcomed back the experienced Tracey Robson to play solo cornet. Tracey will be joining her son and daughter in the ranks.

Also making a welcome family return is Emily Bourn on solo trombone, who is joined in the section by Market Rasen debutant Julian Adams.

Fantastic spirit

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Like a lot of bands we have gone through a tough time, but thee is a fantastic spirit that won't die. Ian Knapton's arrival as MD has really galvanised us, and although there is no quick fix we hope this is the start of a long term revival."
