Report & Results: 2022 ODDA Entertainment

Michelmersh and Nailsworth Silver led the way on a fine day of brass band entertainment at Marlborough School.

The Oxford & District Brass Band Association contest was held at Marlborough School in Woodstock on the weekend, where adjudicators Philip Littlemore and Alan Fernie as well as supportive audience enjoyed the great entertainment provided by the competing bands.

Top section

Michelmersh Silver claimed the top section honours by a clear margin, taking awards for the 'Best Band', 'Best Instrumentalist' and 'Best Horn Section' along the way.

Writing about their success on their Facebook page they said: "We managed to squeeze in the Oxford Entertainment Contest amongst our concert prep and brought home a haul of trophies!"

Section B

Nailsworth Silver continued their upward competitive progress as they took the Section B honours under MD Anri Adachi.

On their Facebook site thy wrote: "Brilliant result! Great day at the ODBBA Entertainments Contest, where we won the awards for 'Best Music' and 'Most Entertaining' performance. A huge congratulations to our flugel fantastic Debbie McDougall, who claimed the 'Best Instrumentalist' award for her rendition 'Under the Boardwalk'."

Harlow Brass Band

February 27 • We are a friendly, non-contesting band who have the following vacancies:. Trombones, 2nd Horn, Back Row Cornets, Percussion. . We rehearse every Thursday in Harlow, 8-10pm and play at local events throughout the year.


Newmarket Town Band

February 27 • Newmarket Town Band is inviting applications for the post of 'Musical Director'. We are a non-contesting band who play to a high standard with regular bookings throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30pm


Banks Brass Band
