Following the recent well publicised loss (although thankful return) of several brass instruments that belonged to students at Chetham's School of Music that were supposedly in airline transit from Italy to Manchester, it seems that yet another high profile instrument has also disappeared into thin air.
Loan scheme
This time it's a trombone that was donated by London Symphony Orchestra star Peter Moore to the British Trombone Society for use in its Loan Scheme aimed at young players who are unable to afford the quality of instrument needed to progress their studies.
It appears it was last checked in transit for the carrier DPD at the Aldridge Depot on 31st August, according to Parcel Tracker on its way to a young student who was eagerly awaiting its arrival.
However, the Yamaha 882GO trombone has gone AWOL with the Society receiving only a cursory reply of "whereabouts unknown".
