WFEL Fairey Band has announced the appointment of Peter McDonough as their new solo euphonium.

The recent Royal Northern College of Music graduate has gained experienced by performing as principal euphonium with the National Youth Brass Band and National Wind Orchestra of Wales, as well as the European Youth Brass Band.

He was also a finalist in the 2018 EBBA European Solo competition and 2019 BrassPass.tv Young Brass Award event.

In addition he was also a member of the Wingates, Eccles and Rainford Bands.

Delighted

Speaking of the appointment, he told 4BR: "I'm delighted to be joining the WFEL Fairey Band. They are an elite level band with a wonderful history.

Having been warmly welcomed during recent concerts in Beaminster and Stroud, where I was featured as a soloist, I'm really excited to be part of their future.

He added: "I must also thank Rainford Band for making my two years there very enjoyable, even with the difficulties faced during the pandemic."
