4BR Editor Iwan Fox talks to Glyn Williams — fresh from leading the Aldbourne Band to the West of England Regional Championship title in Cheltenham.
It provided a memorable conclusion to a fine weekend of music making — the more so as Aldbourne, as the last band of the contest was also providing the 444th performance of the entire contest series that started in Corby in February.
It also gave the Wiltshire band their second top section Area title — the first coming way back in 1981, so little wonder Glyn led a delighted band in enjoying the success on stage, whilst he also looks forward to playing with Cory and Louis Dowdeswell in Birmingham later this month.
