Despite the restrictions of the Coronavirus pandemic on the wider musical world, composer and trombonist Dan Jenkins continues to keep himself busy preparing new works for his recently launched music publishing company, Dan Jenkins Music.
Nearly Salsa time
He told 4BR: "Firstly there's a new piece on the way called 'Dance Suite'. The idea is from Warlock's 'Capriol Suite', but my six 'dances' are half modern, not all Elizabethan.
There's a 'Gigue', a dangerous 'Tango', 'Pavane', 'Ecossaise', a lilting 'Sarabande', and to finish, a rousing party 'Salsa'. I haven't finished the party yet, but there's plenty of time to get it right!"
Audio files
Meanwhile, the audio files for his 'Reaching for the Clouds' — a complete trombone recital of eight new pieces for the instrument with piano accompaniment is now available to check out.
