The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) has announced the first in its 2020/21 programme of external conducting courses.
Led by RNCM conducting staff Mark Heron and Clark Rundell, the events aim to provide world class development opportunities for conductors of all levels.
Opportunities
On Sunday 15th November there will be online sessions to prepare the repertoire for the practical session at the RNCM on Sunday 22nd November. Participants will have the opportunity to conduct wind and brass ensembles of RNCM students, giving the opportunity to develop their skills.
Given international travel restrictions, we are anticipating that this event will provide an excellent opportunity for UK-based conductors of wind and brass bandsMark Heron
COVID-secure
Mark Heron told 4BR: "At the RNCM we are very proud of our conducting courses, both for full-time students and the various short courses that we run. The masterclass programme is long established and has unearthed some outstanding talents.
Given international travel restrictions, we are anticipating that this event will provide an excellent opportunity for UK-based conductors of wind and brass bands.
The sessions on Sunday 22nd November have been scheduled to facilitate travel on the day and the RNCM has extensive COVID-secure measures in place.'
