There is still time to enter the International Brass Band Composer Competition (IBBCC).
The closing date has been confirmed as Friday 28th August.
The competition will be judged by an esteemed panel of experts — James Curnow, Dr Liz Lane and Paul Hindmarsh, and is offering composer/arrangers the chance to have their music showcased, with five finalists having 'follow-the-score' videos created and shared on social media.
Great prizes
Organiser Andrew Wainwright told 4BR: "There are great prizes on offer with the overall winner receiving £100 in cash (sponsored by Besson), a license to the music playback programme notePerformer*, which tremendously enhances the sound of your scores, and publication of the winning work through a new company which has been launched by BrookWright Music, whilst also receiving any associated royalties.
In addition, a special 'Public Commendation Prize' will be awarded to the finalist with the most 'likes' on YouTube, while receiving a £100 gift voucher towards a Geneva instrument."
5 minutes duration
Composers are invited to submit a brass band composition/arrangement or multiple compositions/arrangements of no more than 5 minutes' duration.
Submissions should not already be published, but they do not necessarily need to be newly composed or arranged works. There are no restrictions on the style of the music.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for composers and arrangers to have their music showcased to a wide audience at a time when very few performances are able to happenAndrew Wainwright
