Prairie Residency set for online residents

The 8th Prairie Music Residency course has a star packed line-up of musicians imparting their skills and talents.

  The on-line course runs for the period 6th-9th August

The 8th Prairie Music Residency course is ready to blast off on-line with a faculty of over 35 artists and four days of performances, masterclasses, interactive discussions, daily hang outs from 6th-9th August.

Contributors

Normally held in Saskatoon, Canada, the on-line course will feature contributions from Mark Wilkinson, Martin Britt, Helen Varley, David Thornton, Helen Harrelson, Les Neish, Andrea Venet, Gavin Pritchard, Darrell Bueckert, Joe Parisi and Tom Davoren amongst others.

The course runs daily from 5.00pm-11:30pm (UK time) and will be split into Artist Spotlight Q&A sessions for each instrument, and Centre Stage sessions on a number of different topics.

These include sessions on 'Staying Engaged' with Dean McNeill, 'Community Music and Mental Health' with Tabby Kerwin and a brass panel discussion on diversity in music, in partnership with the International Women's Brass Conference hosted by Joanna Ross Hersey.

The course runs daily from 5.00pm-11:30pm (UK time) and will be split into Artist Spotlight Q&A sessions for each instrument, and Centre Stage sessions on a number of different topics4BR

Guests

Panel guests include Gillian MacKay (Canada) Lucy Pankhurst (UK) Velvet Brown (USA) Raquel Rodriquez Samayoa (USA) and Helen Varley (UK). Other sessions will be led by Joseph Parisi, Tom Davoren and Dr Peter Meechan.

With nearly 3 hours of special recital performances, masterclasses and spotlights on artists, all live sessions and on demand content will be available and viewable for re-watching until the end of August.
