Besson's 'Fridays at Home' series hosted by Philip Harper alongside Steven Mead and Roger Webster has added to its worldwide appeal following the airing of its second episode.

The chaps were joined by Foden's principal cornet Mark Wilkinson and tenor horn star Sheona White for the latest 40 minutes of friendly chat and opinion, with comments and congratulations from listeners after the show coming from all corners of the brass band globe.

One of the most important items discussed was that of the pressing issue of the lack of diversity and inclusion in the banding world — with both presenters and guests emphasising their awareness of the problem and the need to work proactively to address it.

Both Sheona and Mark also spoke about their careers in the banding world — and what different challenges they have met along the way — from keeping their lips in trim to the problems of concentration that come with age!

Loyal following

Speaking about the success, Steven Mead told 4BR: "We're building up a loyal following with more people joining us for a great start to their fortnightly weekends at 6.00pm for 45 minutes on a Friday night.

Phil keeps us on our toes and enables us to give our opinions and viewpoints, whilst we've been really lucky with our guests, with Mark and Sheona the latest to shine a light on their careers.
