Chris Waters, the inventor behind the popular line of Heavy Bottom Caps has told 4BR that increased demand for their products has meant new additions to the range.

Prestige

The latest are 3rd valve caps to suit Besson Prestige cornet and tenor horn instruments as well as a 3rd and 4th valve heavy bottom cap for their Prestige euphoniums.

Chris told 4BR: "We get enquiries from all over the world for the Heavy Bottom Caps and have definitely seen an increase during the lockdown as we think more and more people are really exploring their musical capabilities with a little more time on their hands.

The 4th valve caps to suit Besson Prestige, Sovereign, vintage B&H Round Stamp Sovereign, vintage B&H Imperials and Besson New Standard — in addition to our range covering all Yamaha's, Adams, Willson and John Packer "JP" Sterling Euphoniums."

Achieve

Chris added that the biggest compliment he was receiving from customers was that they felt the caps added a level of centered security to their playing. "That's so good to hear as that is what we strive to achieve with them."

As an addition to the range to fit Prestige instruments, Chris has also ensured that the Heavy Bottom Caps blend with the aesthetic look of the leading instruments, by adding a 24 carat gold Plated knurled end to suit the other bottom caps.

"It felt the right thing to do — and they are already proving popular."

1 month approval

Chris added that customers can try a 3rd or 4th Valve HBC on 1 month approval anywhere in the world just to see for themselves and if they don't like it. "If that's the case we give a full refund — plus their postage too!

It's great way of letting players worldwide see for themselves, without obligation — and it works.
