The Geneva Group continues to welcome yet more high profile stars to its brand with the news that Black Dyke's Zoe Lovatt-Cooper has become their new Flugel Horn Development & Performance Artist.
Finest
Welcoming her following the recording of a recital performance to be featured on BrassPass.tv, General Manager Brett Baker told 4BR: "Zoe is regarded as one of the brass band world's finest flugel players — and this year celebrates a decade at Black Dyke.
Her tonal purity is instantly recognisable and we believe it's been enhanced by her move to perform on the Oldroyd Cardinal flugel horn."
Superb instrument
In response Zoe said: "I really enjoyed my visit to the Geneva factory to try the flugels and was spoilt for choice. Every instrument I picked up and played was of the highest quality.
The Oldroyd Cardinal flugel is a superb instrument and one that I'm already thoroughly enjoying playing on."
Having first learnt to play with the St Dennis Band organisation in Cornwall, Zoe became an integral member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain for nine courses, and was presented with the prestigious Harry Mortimer Award.
She went on to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama where she played with Tredegar Band in winning the British Open title in 2010.
