Downshire Brass is preparing for their latest on-line concert performance by linking up with international euphonium star David Childs and broadcaster and presenter Frank Renton.
It follows a series of weekly concerts which they have produced over the last eight weeks during the Coronavirus pandemic featuring members of the youth and senior bands.
Hospice funds
Now they team up with the Besson star with Frank introducing the music on Saturday 27th June (7.30pm) to help raise funds for the Northern Ireland Hospice, an organisation which has done so much to support patients and their families during the Covid19 crisis.
Band Chairperson Robert Mercer told 4BR: "We're delighted to be joined by David and Frank for this concert and grateful for their support for this important organisation."
In response, David told 4BR: "It's great to be able to link up with Michael Alcorn and Downshire Brass to help raise funds for a wonderful chosen charity.
I had the pleasure of working with Michael and the band during my time at Queen's University, so it's great to be joining them once again for what I'm sure will be a memorable evening."
Amazing response
Michael Alcorn added: "We've had an amazing response to our weekly concerts, with members of the youth and senior bands providing fantastic performances.
These have been shared with an audience comprising families and friends with over 150 people tuning-in each week.
The public concert on the 27th is the culmination of our Downshire family concert series and showcases the musicality and creativity of all the participants during these challenging times for musicians."
