The Sage needs to raise £3 million to stay "viable"

The Sage Gateshead, the venue for the Brass in Concert Championships and one of the most readily identifiable concert landmarks in the UK has announced that it has launched an immediate 'Crisis, Recovery and Renaissance' funding campaign to help raise £3 million to secure its future.

Without it they state, "...our organisation won't be viable".

Income loss

They state that over 60% of its income comes from concerts, classes and events — which stopped overnight, whilst a further 20% has been directly affected by the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

During the period March — September they project to lose around £4 million in income and have stated publically that they believe it could take between 12-18 months for audience numbers to return, depending on government advice.
