Brass Bands England is looking for nominations for its 2020 awards

Brass Bands England (BBE) has launched its search for nominations for its 2020 Brass Band Conference Awards.

Exceptional contribution

Membership Support Officer Rosie Banham told 4BR: "BBE is keen to give credit to individuals and organisations in the banding world that have made an exceptional contribution to the brass band community.

For example, this may well have been through inspiring young people, tireless dedication, leading creative and imaginative projects and collaborations, or bringing about positive social change."

Nominations

Nominations can now be made in the following categories.

The Innovation Award:

BBE is looking for people or organisations that are blazing a new trail for brass bands.

They want to receive nominations in recognition of those who have done something innovative to make a band better or an organisation that is leading the way.

The Lifetime Achievement Award:

BBE is looking for nominations that recognise people or organisations who have really made a difference to their local community or carried out wider charitable endeavours.

The Social Impact Award:

BBE is looking for people who have made an outstanding contribution to banding. It may well be musically or through band organisation. BBE wants to hear about the people that have shaped banding experiences for the better.

The Brian W. Hicks Memorial Shield for Services to Youth

Nominations will have made a huge impact on youth in the banding sector, demonstrated through their own personal commitment and dedication.
