The Wantage Band organisation has launched its Virtual Youth Solo Contest, aimed at players aged 19 and under.

The initiative forms part of the ethos of giving young performers the opportunity to play to the widest possible audience.

The entries will be adjudicated by the renowned conductor and Yamaha artist Russell Gray, who will have the difficult task of deciding the top three in each of three categories; Under 11; 12-15 Years of Age, and 16 to 19 Years of age.

The competitions are open to any player in the banding world — and on any brass instrument.

Deadline for entries is 8.00pm on Sunday 14th June, but please visit https://wantageband.org/youthcontest/ for the information you require about the rules, format of recordings etc.

Further information:

The results will be announced LIVE on WSB Sounds by Russell on Sunday 21st June at 8.00pm.
