Composer and leading professional saxophonist Andy Scott continues to maintain a close link to the banding movement, despite his busy writing and performing schedule.
Now, a work that he wrote through an association with the Love Music Trust, Foden's Band and members of Love Music Trust Academy, Poynton, Macclesfield, Lions Youth and Foden's Youth Brass Bands in 2018 has been published by Astute Music is now avaialbel to played by everyone.
Brass Revolution!
The world premiere of his 'Brass Revolution!' came at Birmingham Town Hall in July 2018 as part of the Music for Youth National Festival, and Andy's been determined to get it published every since.
Now it's out and is aimed at youth bands and wider opportunities students, with optional additional easy parts making it an inclusive piece for young musicians.
Funky grooves
Andy told 4BR: "Brass Revolution celebrates youth and music — with an attitude! Via narration, singing and playing it sends out the message that 'we (the younger generation) will be heard!
It's full of funky grooves that merge with slow melodies and hard-hitting horn lines that are juxtaposed with delicate smaller ensemble work.
It's 18 minutes long — but the time flies and when we all get back to doing concerts it will make everyone fell upbeat!"
