Camborne Band has helped celebrate the Trevithick Day with an on-line social media performance instead of their traditional annual march through the Cornish town, where in 1801 the inventor Richard Trevithick's revolutionary 'Puffing Devil' steam powered 'road carriage' made its first journey.
Since 1984, the celebration day has taken place on the last Saturday of April attracting over 25,000 visitors. A replica of his famous invention, the first to run on a roadway under its own power is also shown.
The current West of England Regional Champion has been leading the procession dance through the town playing 'Camborne Worthies' before performing in an afternoon concert as visitors enjoy local tractions, street stalls, bands, performers and entertainers.
