The Geneva Group has added to its formidable stable of Development & Performance Artists with the major singing of Black Dyke Band solo euphonium, Dan Thomas
Sought after
The Welshman began his musical career on percussion but quickly became one of the most sought after euphonium players in Wales after making his mark with the highly successful Ebbw Valley Band, competing at his first National Finals in 2009, aged just 15.
In 2009 he successfully auditioned for the National Youth Brass Band of Wales under the direction of Nicholas Childs and Edward Gregson and later joined Cory under Dr Robert Childs.
He later moved to Tredegar where he was a star performer in their remarkable 2013 British Open victory where he won the Geoffrey Whitham 'Best Euphonium' prize. He has since won it again in 2019.
His decision to study at the RNCM in Manchester saw him join Black Dyke, where his emerging solo career saw him win the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award and also the Euphonium Artist Competition at the I.T.E.C. (International Tuba Euphonium Conference) Festival in the USA.
