Band of the Year contest earmarked for October

The 2020 BrassPass UK Band of the Year Contest has been earmarked for late October — subject to the Coronavirus situation.

Band of the Year
The contest has been earmarked for the end of October

IBB Media Ltd, the organisers of the BrassPass UK Band of the Year contest have confirmed a new date for the 2020 event.

It is hoped that it will now take place on Sunday 25th October at The Albert Halls in Bolton. To aid travel arrangements of bands and audience alike, the contest will have an 11.30am start time.

New date

Commenting on the new date, Managing Director, Martin Gernon told 4BR: "With the dire situation the country, and indeed, the world is in at the moment, it is good to be able to confirm this new date for our contest.

The date, of course could still be subject to change if the pandemic continues, but if we are all still in lockdown by October, the world will have much deeper issues than a band contest! We, as with everyone else, hope the pandemic will be far behind us by then."

Popular

He added: "10 of the best bands in the UK will battle it out in the 30 minute format that proved so popular last year.

We selected a Sunday for the contest not only because of the very limited availability of venues for Saturdays in Autumn, but also to keep Saturdays free for bands who will be looking to take vital bookings after such a long lay-off period."

Tickets

He concluded: "For the audience who have already booked tickets for the original 23rd May date, the tickets will automatically be transferred to the new date.

In the event they have booked tickets and are now unable to attend on the 25th October, please contact the Quay Tickets booking office, who will be happy to make a full refund.

We are now looking forward to what will be another spectacular day of contesting with a full audience in a great venue."
