Foden's Band has been bringing some fun to the banding world with their socially distanced version of a communal trip to the seaside...
The trend started by Cory has certainly caught the imagination of bands and ensembles across the world — with North West Area Champion the latest top flight contender to make their pitch for the unofficial 'Self Isolation Championship of the World' title.
Busy
Since being on lockdown Foden's has also been busy running a successful on-line Music Festival as well as their regular committee meetings and a band quiz. They still found time though to get together on-line for their own version of Queen's 'Seaside Rendezvous'.
Speaking about the initiative principal cornet Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "We've thoroughly enjoyed watching the numerous online performances over the past couple of weeks and it has been great seeing so many bands working together in such an inventive manner.
We thought we had better give it a go though — so after a bit of discussion we opted for 'Seaside Rendezvous' which had been arranged by our bass player Iain McKnight for our 2018 Brass in Concert appearance."
We hope people enjoy it — it really was fun for us to do, even though I had to find my kazoo!Mark Wilkinson
Kazoo
Mark added: "We hope people enjoy it — it really was fun for us to do, even though I had to find my kazoo!
Our thanks go to Richard Poole for coordinating the project and we dedicated it to all the health care and front line service personnel who are looking after our health and well being at this time. We hope its puts a smile on their faces!"
