4BR has been informed that the 2020 French Open Championship has been cancelled.
The 26th annual event which was due to have taken place in the picturesque setting of Amboise in the Loire Valley between the 29th-31st May is the latest brass band event to be cancelled due to the worldwide effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Great sadness
Chris Jeans, President of the Jury for the French Open Brass Band Championship told 4BR: "It's with great sadness for all of us to have to take this decision, but we have followed the appropriate official advice."
It was confirmed that all participating bands will now be contacted about the cancellation with the 2021 already booked for the 4th-6th June.
