The European Brass Band Association has announced that the compositions that were to have been used as the set-works at the 2020 Championships in Palanga have been embargoed from performance or recording.
Agreement
The decision has been made in agreement with composers Philip Sparke and Vaida Beinariene as well as the local organisers Palangos Orkestras, as it is hoped to explore further options to bring the event back to Lithuania in the future.
Paul Hindmarsh, Chair of the EBBA Music Commission stated: "Following the unfortunate but necessary cancellation of EBBC in Palanga (2020), EBBA will keeping in close contact with the local organisers, Palangos Orkestras.
As commissioner of the test pieces, Palangos Orkestras wishes to retain its rights to the first performances of the set tests by Philip Sparke ('A Road Less Travelled By') and Vaida Beinariene ('Baltic Legends').

4BR was informed that any band that was to compete at the event can return the music in good condition and will not be invoiced for the sale.
If they wish to retain the score and parts (on the clear understanding the works will not be performed or recorded), the agreed price will be payable on invoice from EBBA.
