4BR has been informed that the West of England Regional Championships will go ahead as planned on the weekend at Torquay's Riviera Centre.

The West of England Regional Committee has closely monitored appropriate advice and announcements and posted a statement for all competing bands.

Sensible advice

It said: "The Government's announcement earlier this afternoon (Thursday 12th March) gave no indication that our event should be cancelled. We urge all visitors to the Riviera Centre to follow good, sensible advice on basic hygiene and cleanliness, especially the regular and thorough washing of hands.

We continue to focus on the final preparations for the weekend and look forward to seeing you in Torquay."
