The 700 seat Great Hall will provide the new venue for the Welsh Regional Championships

The Welsh Regional Championships return to Swansea this weekend — although the event will be held at a brand new venue at Swansea University's Great Hall.

The 700 seat Great Hall is the centre-piece £32m flagship building at the heart of the University's Science & Innovation Bay Campus.

40 bands

40 bands in five sections will battle it out to be claimed Welsh Champion, with 2019 winner Tredegar heading the list of seven top-flight contenders. Two bands will qualify for the Royal Albert Hall in addition to 2019 National Champion Cory.

Two bands in each of the First, Second, Third and Fourth Sections will represent the nation at Cheltenham in September.

The action starts at 10.00am on Saturday 29th February, with the Third Section followed by the Second and First. Sunday also starts at 10.00am with the Fourth Section, followed by the Championship Section event.
