The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will be making a welcome concert appearance in Wales later this year.
Led by guest conductor Ray Farr and featuring soloist Tom Hutchinson, principal cornet of Cory Band, the concert will take place at the Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff on Saturday 11th April (7.00pm).
Annual course
The trip across the River Severn sees the band head west on its concert appearances at the end of its annual Easter Course this year, where over 80 brass and percussion players will enjoy a week of inspirational tuition and leadership at Taunton School from Saturday 4th to Saturday 11th April.
The two concerts with a theme of 'Britain Salutes America' will follow, with the band also making a welcome return to the West of England with a concert at the Winter Gardens in Weston super Mare on Friday 10th April (7.00pm).
Works by Malcolm Arnold, Thea Musgrave and Derek Bourgeois, Leonard Bernstein, Frank Zappa, John Adams and Eric Whitacre will be featured.
