Hood takes top man role at Ratby for Area

The respected cornet soloist Jamie Hood will make his contest debut with Ratby Co-operative Band at the forthcoming Midlands Area contest.

The Ratby Co-operative Band will be teaming up with the respected Besson artist and soloist Jamie Hood for their appearance at the forthcoming Midlands Regional Championships.

Principal role

Jamie will take on the principal cornet role as the band looks to qualify for the Royal Albert Hall on Philip Sparke's, 'A Tale as yet Untold'.

Jamie has just release his latest solo CD, 'Crossroads', and has previously played with the likes of Co-operative Funeralcare and Kirkintilloch Bands. He has also performed to critical acclaim throughout Europe and the United States

Delighted

Speaking about the news, MD Mareika Gray told 4BR: "We are delighted to welcome Jamie for the contest. He is such a fine player and a talented musician and will complement the strong line up we have at the moment."

Band Chairman Steve Plant added: "We are very excited to welcome Jamie and would like to extend our warm thanks to Besson for their support. Details of our new full time principal cornet will be announced immediately after the Area contest."
