Saltash celebrate friendly achievements

Members young and old of the Saltash Band have been showcasing their solo talents.

Saltash Band members won plenty of prizes

Members of the Saltash Band in Cornwall have been celebrating success at the recent Saltash Music Festival. Players from both the main and training band won prizes, with a special mention to Alison Ellis who won the highest score of any brass player and was invited to perform at the Festival Gala Concert.

The band also ran its own solo contest adjudicated by Paul Pennicote-Henrie with the awards presented at their recent annual dinner. The 'Bandsman of The Year' went to Bernie Ryan, with the 'Special Achievement Award' presented to Keith and Liz Burford.

The 'Players Player Award' was claimed by Alison Ellis, with the 'Best Player Award' going to Sarah Holmes, the 'Best Section Award' going to the horn section and the 'Most Improved Section' to the cornets. The 'Most Committed Award' was presented to Sue Higman.
