The European Brass Band Association has confirmed the news that the Geneva Group is to become the main sponsor of championships for the next three years.

The new sponsorship link which builds on the existing partnership between EBBA and Geneva Group will start at the 2020 event in Palanga in May.

EBBA President, Ulf Rosenberg, CEO of Geneva Group, Tim Oldroyd and General Manager of Geneva Group, Brett Baker, met at the recent RNCM Festival of Brass to secure the three-year partnership, building on a relationship that started back in 2017.

Strengthen

Speaking about the new link, Ulf Rosenberg told 4BR: "We are very pleased that Geneva Group will continue to support the European Brass Band Championships, which will make the organisers able to strengthen the event's reputation as the world's most prestigious band contest.

He added: "Geneva's support to the bands and the event has been greatly valued by all stakeholders and we are looking forward to seeing the relationship moving forward in the future."

Support banding

In response, Brett Baker told 4BR: "We are delighted to be involved in a festival where the highest possible standard of brass music making takes place.

This will allow Geneva Group to spread its brand into countries in Europe that are relatively new to us and continue to support banding at the highest level as well as continuing to support the youth programme throughout European banding which is very important to our movement."
