Tewkesbury Town Band has announced the appointment of Andrea Price as their new Musical Director.
The former principal percussionist at Black Dyke Band and former Director of Music at Bolton School Girls' Division is the Head of Academic Music at Malvern College.
Her widespread musical experience has also included conducting Rainford Band, whilst her music is regularly commissioned and published. She is also a tutor at the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and is an A Level examiner for AQA.
Thrilled
Although her teaching commitments precludes any immediate return to top flight banding the band is thrilled that she is eagerly looking forward to working with them.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Andrea takes over from long serving MD, Nigel Morgan, who is retiring. He will continue as assistant conductor over the next six months."
