The Johnstone Band has announced that Mark Good will lead the band in 2020.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Having enjoyed working with Mark during 2019, we are looking forward to preparing for the Scottish Championships and a busy schedule beyond with him at the helm."

Delighted

In response, Mark said: "I'm delighted to be working with Johnstone for a busy season of performances.

Previous engagements with the band have been very enjoyable and I look forward to getting under way with a great bunch of dedicated people."

Experience

Mark joins after a successful seven year spell as Musical Director at Renfrew Burgh Band, which yielded victories at the Scottish Championships, Scottish Challenge Cup and Fife Brass Band Festival, as well as many other prizes including a top-six finish at the National Championships in Cheltenham.

He is also Musical Director at Riverside Youth Band in Inverclyde, a four-time Scottish youth champion, and most recently worked with Bathgate Band.
