Arrow Valley Brass has announced the appointment of its new Musical Director, Ashley Buxton.

Experience

Ashley is the Director of Music at a grammar school in the West Midlands and has a CV that includes 12 years as a trumpeter in the Regimental Band of Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards.

He joined Arrow Valley Brass over the summer, taking his first bandstand engagement after only half of one rehearsal.

Since then the partnership has developed further with a podium finish contest debut at the Gloucester Brass Band Association march and own choice test piece competition where the band won the trophy for 'Highest Third Section Band'.

He takes over the role from long serving musical director, Dave Stanley, who will still be very much involved with the band behind the scenes.

Ashley will be conducting the band at their annual Christmas concert which takes place on Saturday 14th December.
