Federal honour for German President

Arnd Bolten's work in helping develop a long term sustainability of the German Brass Band movement has been recognised with prestigious civilian award.

Arnd Bolten, the President of the German Brass Band Association has been honoured with the award of the Federal Cross of Merit.

This award is given for outstanding achievements in the political, economic, cultural, spiritual or voluntary fields and is considered as one of highest honours available to German civilians.

Brass bands

The 68 year old has worked throughout his professional life with in the musical world and since 2016 has been chairman of the German Brass Band Association.

His award paid tribute to his work and is particular his passion and success in increasing a long term sustainable structure of the domestic German brass band movement.
