Sovereign Brass has announced a brace of family signings that cover both youth and experience.
The talented 12 year old cornet player Jennifer Richardson joins on the back row, whilst her mum Jane adds a few more years of experience in taking over the second baritone role. Both join from Shirley Band.
Jennifer has made rapid progress over the last three years and is a valued member of Youth Brass 2000. She has also enjoyed a great deal of success in solo competitions and has been tutored by Cory cornet star Tom Hutchinson.
Up and coming
Speaking about her introduction to the band, principal cornet Rebekah Lock told 4BR: "We're particularly pleased that Jennifer has agreed to join us. She is an up and coming star and we look forward to helping her develop as a player of the future."
The band's personnel officer, Bob Allen added: "Both players are a great addition, and we're thrilled that they have become part of the Sovereign family."
