The Fishburn Band has announced the appointment of John Pearson as their new Resident Conductor.
He comes to the role with over a decade of experience as a professional musician in the British Army, performing at many high profile events across the world. He has also conducted many bands in the North of England most recently Blackpool Brass and Freckleton.
Twice a semi-finalist at the National Association of Brass Band Conductors annual competition he has also bene involved in workshops led by the likes of Russell Gray and Ian Porthouse.

He told 4BR: "I'm thrilled to have been asked to be part of such a committed and enthusiastic band. I can't wait to help move Fishburn forward on the concert and contest stage in what I'm sure will be a long and prosperous musical partnership."
In response a band spokesperson added: "We are understandably excited by the appointment and are looking forward to the challenge ahead, starting at the forthcoming Wychavon Festival of Brass contest."
