The experienced Dave Lea has been appointed as Musical Director of Ibstock Brick Brass.

It follows the successful podium finish at the recent Bolsover Festival of Brass Second Section contest and with the band targeting further success at the 2020 Butlins Mineworkers Championships in Skegness in January.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are thrilled with the appointment and are looking forward to the challenge ahead. Dave is pushing the band, but all players are fired up and raring to go and accept the challenge".

In response, Dave added: "I'm so pleased to work with this team of committed musicians and to make great music together".
