The musical partnership Shrewsbury Band and conductor Steve Pritchard-Jones has come to an end with immediate effect.

Sadness

Steve told 4BR: "It's with great sadness that after seven years that my time come to an end, but having talked to the committee and many hours of soul searching I've decided to move on due to personal reasons and increasing workload."

He added: "I'm very proud to have been the first Musical Director and I leave them in a very strong position and I thank them all for their hard work and dedication. I will miss working with Shrewsbury after what was an extremely difficult decision to make.

I know the band will go from strength to strength in the coming years and I wish them all well."
