The Geneva Group is keen to offer support to organisations promoting youth

The Geneva Group continues to play a proactive part in helping develop youth banding in all areas of the country, with the news that it is supporting the ongoing work of the Elland Youth Band organisation near Halifax and the Consett Junior School Band.

Elland has benefited from being supplied with instruments for its starter band, whilst Consett has also gained new instruments.

Partnerships

Geneva Group General Manager Brett Baker told 4BR: "As well as partnerships with the Yorkshire Youth Band and North East Midlands Youth Band we are now reaching out to support players from the very beginning of their playing careers."

He added: "Elland is such an impressive organisation and Sam Harrison works tirelessly with these youngsters who now have quality student instruments to begin their lifelong musical journey.

I've also known about the inspirational work going on at Consett Junior Brass for over 20 years and we are delighted to be able to support their works which has seen numbers explode over the last few years."

Delighted

In response, Consett Junior Brass conductor, David Jackson told 4BR: "We're delighted to give the band a boost with some affordable new instruments of excellent quality.

We always struggle to find players to want to play middle and low brass but with these excellent tenor horns and euphoniums from Geneva we have been inundated with volunteers!"
