Stannington Brass Band will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its reformation this weekend with a special concert on Saturday.
Although the band's origins go back as far as the 1880's, they disbanded in the 1960's before reforming in 1969.
Current and future
The current MD Derek Renshaw, will be in charge of proceedings, taking the audience on a journey of musical highlights from the last five decades, whilst the next generation of players in the Stannington Training Band will also be performing their own programme under the baton of Tim Parris.
An exhibition of photographs, personal document and memorabilia will also be on show.
