The popular Solo, Duet & Quartet contest has gained new support this year as well looking for a new generation of judges.

Solo
The competition is one of the most popular on the UK banding calendar.

Foden's have announced further details of their annual Solo, Duet & Quartet contest to be held in Sandbach on Saturday 2nd November.

The popular event, which attracts over 120 competitors from the UK and further afield, will this year be supported by Kapitol Promotions and Brass Band World magazine.

Impress

The adjudicators to impress will be international jazz and big band trumpeter Mike Lovatt, as well as cornet stars John Doyle and Mark Wilkinson who will oversee sixteen different categories, including slow melody, air-varie, vintage, duet, ensemble and a special parent and child class.

The event has also gained support from the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators, who will be using the event to help develop the next generation of judges. One youth trainee will be welcomed by Mark Wilkinson (current Chair of Aobba) who will be mentored by John Doyle.
