Conductor Neil Brownless has publicly thanked the Towcester Studio Band following the news that he will be leaving the band in September to study conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
As reported on 4BR, the role will now be taken by Peter Wain who previously conducted the band during a very successful period in the 1980's, culminating in their appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in 1985.
Second family
Speaking to 4BR, Neil said: "I've really enjoyed my time with Towcester since January 2015 — they have been like a second family to me.
To leave with no less than six contest wins and delivering three world premieres is something I'm very proud of and showed the band's level of commitment and dedication.
I wish Peter all the best in the future and look forward to hearing of more success."
