The British Open champion Cory will head to Symphony Hall on Saturday September 7th to defend its title boosted by two exciting teenage signings to their ranks.
Owain Llestyn (cornet) and Emily Quick (percussion) join the reigning European, Brass in Concert and UK Band of the Year winners as they look to retain possession of the iconic British Open Trophy.
Young stars
18 year old Owain is principal cornet of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales and started his playing with Llanrug Band. He later moved to Northop Silver and then Fairey and was the principal cornet of the 2019 European Youth Brass Band in Montreux. He will soon commence studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
Meanwhile, 19 year old Emily is the principal percussionist of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.
She grew up in Devon playing for Hatherleigh Town Band before moving to Bodmin in 2013 and for the last year has been playing with Flowers Band. She is a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff.

Speaking about the new signings, MD Philip Harper told 4BR: "It's great to welcome two major young talents to Cory Band. I've been witnessing the development of their skills, musicianship and personality over the last couple of years, and I'm delighted to have found an opportunity to sign them up.
